In 2021, Kevin Ripski generously donated to the NPCF to support the construction of a boardwalk at St. Johns Conservation Area. The boardwalk helps to keep hikers on trail, and prevent damage to the Old Growth Forest and sensitive plant species that are found within the Conservation Area. This boardwalk consists of a galvanized metal frame and base to support a pressure treated deck with a low rail support to establish solid edges to prevent slipping. The boardwalk is approximately 5’ in width and 30’ in length, spanning a low marshy area along the trail. The boardwalk is named after Mr. Ripski’s trusting companion ‘Bear,’ and a plaque has been placed with a message provided by Mr. Ripski.
